An interesting artist and forest keeper's house awaits you in wonderful quiet surroundings. The house was built in 1957, and renovated in 2007 and 2008 keeping alive a bit of the 50's style. It is furnished with a mixture of antiques and new pieces to give it the proper balance of comfort. There are several original paintings by the artist Irmgard Ledermann, maiden name Dieterich, that are displayed around the home. In 2011 the bath-and showerrooms were completely newly redown, you will enjoy it. We invite you to review the gallery, which will be updated periodically.

You will live on a hill in Oberschönau half way between Berchtesgaden and the village of Schönau in the middle of the picturesque valley basin of Berchtesgaden. The massive mountains of Watzmann, Hockkalter, Göll, Untersberg and Tote Mann surround the basin. The house is located at the end of a little private road and directly connected to a piece of forest and a meadow. This is a perfect area for children to have an adventure, and play right outside the patio doors. Enjoy the sundeck all day and the sunset when coming back from hikes or sightseeing tours. Even in winter time you will have marvelous clear sunny days which you can enjoy for a few hours lying back in comfortable deck chairs.

There a closed garage for one car with space for storage of skis and bicycles is available. The drive way offers enough space for additional cars.

160 square meters (probably 1.800sqft) spaciously designed living areas, outfitted throughout with natural materials as solid wooden floors made out of oak, larch, and local Norway spruce, as well as cut stone tiles in the bathrooms are only a few highlights.

Step in and the ground hallway greets you with a complete outfitted writing desk incl. flat rate internet connected pc and updated tourist information; additionally you will find Literature of Berchtesgaden, the region and belletristic for your convenience.

The kitchen is outfitted comparable to a big private household. You will find a extra large ceramic cooking field, exhaust hood to the outside, 2 backing ovens (one to be used to warm up your plates), fridge, Coffeemaker in the dinning room, egg boiler, toaster, microwave, hand-blender, electric bread cutter, dishes, cutlery, coffee mugs and cups and glasses serving 12 people (kids gear is also available). Additionally you will find a second fridge and a freezer in closet connected to the kitchen. There too you will have a vacuum cleaner and other supplies for cleaning .

The dining room consists of a bavarian wood style corner seat group outfitted with tablecloth/sets. The kitchen, dining room, and the living room face south/west which means they are extremely bright.

There are three bedrooms on the upper floor: Lärchenzimmer with 30 qm / 322sq.ft; Fichtenzimmer with 17 qm/180 sq.ft; and Atelier with 13 qm / 140 sq.ft. The Lärchenzimmer has included now a spacious Showerroom with WC/Bidet; additionally for the two other bedrooms you will find a bathroom with a double washstand, a tub with shower curtain and a rain showerhead. There is a separate WC (a second WC with a washstand can be found right next to the main entrance on the ground floor).The bedrooms are all outfitted with wood furniture in the alpine style with additional chairs and in the upper hallway with a second TV-set.. All bedcovers are German duvet style and are oversized for each person (155cm to 220 cm). You can choose between down/feather or a filling which is suitable by allergic reasons. You are welcome to give us your preferences when booking and if you want the covers warmer or lighter, no problem. We are able to take care of that also.
